| The facet joints are at the back of the spine with two at each spinal
level. They're about as big as small finger joints and help guide movement of the
spine. They are compressed when you bend backwards and/or turn or bend to the side
all the way. Bending forward takes the weight off the joints. Traction will
also take weight off these joints. When the facets are injured, they can cause a
facet syndrome. |
