Neck and Low Back surgery seems to be most successful in patients with these things:

• Evidence of a pinched nerve both on exam and on MRI or CT Myelogram

• A positive discogram that provokes the classic pain pattern

• Evidence of a herniated disc on MRI that correlates with the physical exam

• MRI and exam evidence of stenosis and or arthritis that's pinching on a nerve
