Massage

Massage can be very helpful for reducing tightness in muscles.  In conditions such as Thoracic Outlet it can also reduce numbness and tingling down the hand.  Make sure you find a good massage therapist who spends time working on the front of the chest and diaphragm, not just the feel good areas of the neck and back.  Many massage therapists make a big deal over neuromuscular versus Swedish.  Neuromuscular therapists are in general more intensively trained in myofascial pain, however, an experienced Swedish massage therapist can often help just as much.  If you find yourself becoming addicted to massage because it lasts only a few days, you may want to spend time finding out why your muscles are tight.  Here are some common causes:
