| Here are some simple things you
can do to help post-whiplash headaches... |
-
These headaches commonly start at the back
of the head or suboccipital area. Take a zip-loc bag or small
baggie and fill it with 5 or 6 ice cubes. You can also use a bag
of frozen peas. Place a small towel around the bag of ice or peas
and lie down on a bed, face up. Put the cold pack just under the
base of your skull (top of the neck) and lie down on the pack. Get
comfortable. Think about relaxing the muscles at the back of your
head. Keep the cold pack on until the skin starts to feel numb,
then take it off until the feeling starts to return. Try this 3
times. Don't keep the cold pack there for more than 15 minutes at
a time. Stop if this makes you feel worse! |
