How To Read

Reading can frequently cause neck pain and headaches in patients with a whiplash injury. When you read, use a pillow to support your elbows and arms so that your upper trapezius doesn't get overloaded. Also, try not to look down for extended periods of time. Position the book so that it's easy to see without looking down. You may want to purchase a slant board from an office supply store. This is a device that holds the book at a 45 degree angle rather than having it sit flat on a table.
