This is a concerning finding. If the numbness got more intense as soon as you started, make sure that you have had these tests and or work-up:

1. If the numbness is only in your hands, a cervical MRI and flexion/extension x-rays.

2. If the numbness is both in your hands and your feet or just in your feet, a cervical and lumbar MRI as well as cervical and lumbar flexion/extension x-rays.

3. In either case, you should be cleared by an M.D. or D.O. neurologist, orthopedic, or physical medicine specialist.

You may have a herniated disc in your neck or lower back, a very irritated nerve, ligament damage to the structures that support the spine, or another process causing nerve or spinal cord irritation.

It is not recommended that you proceed with this service, please log off and seek medical attention.

If you have had all of these tests cleared by a qualified specialist (as listed above), then you may proceed with caution after you have received permission from your treating physician.
