MICHAEL D. FREEMAN, Ph.D.,
D.C., M.P.H.
Dr. Michael Freeman is a Forensic Epidemiologist
specializing in the application of probability and epidemiologic data to
disputed matters. He serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Epidemiology at
Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine, Department of Public
Health and Preventive Medicine, where he teaches a course in Forensic and Trauma
Epidemiology. Dr. Freeman is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Forensic
Medicine and Epidemiology at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of
Health Sciences, University of Aarhus, Denmark. He holds a Ph.D. in public
health with a focus in epidemiology from Oregon State University, as well as a
Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree in biostatistics and epidemiology, also
from OSU. Dr. Freeman is originally trained as a chiropractor and maintained an
active practice for 15 years, having co-founded the first multidisciplinary
chiropractic/ interventional pain management/ spine surgery/ rehabilitation
spine center in Oregon.
Dr. Freeman is the co-founder and former
co-editor in chief of the Journal of Whiplash and Related Disorders, a
peer-reviewed journal from Haworth Press, an Associate Editor for The Spine
Journal and the Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and serves as a
peer reviewer for a number of biomedical journals. Dr. Freeman has more than 80
publications in the field of forensic epidemiology, traffic injuries and crash
reconstruction, medical diagnostics, and a variety of other areas of interest.
Dr. Michael Freeman is a Forensic Trauma Epidemiologist
specializing in the application of probability and epidemiologic data to
forensic venues. He holds a Ph.D. in trauma epidemiology from Oregon State
University, as well as a Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree in biostatistics
from that school. His thesis was on chronic pain following motor vehicle crash
injuries.
