The Spinal Injury Foundation Mission

The Spinal Injury Foundation is dedicated to research, education, and advocacy for those with chronic spinal injuries.

How We Accomplish Our Mission

We fund the Smith Fund, a grant that helps persons who have lost their job from their chronic spinal injuries to cover utility expenses.

We help some  patients who can not otherwise afford medical care

We are piloting a medical device exchange program so needy patients can get the equipment they require.

We sponsor educational series to allow primary care physicians access to the latest information regarding the management of spinal pain.

We fund research into the diagnosis, treatment, and management of chronic spinal injury.

We run a Department of Health and Human Services registered Institutional Review Board designed to protect the rights of human subjects involved in our own funded research as well as research funded through other means.

We sponsor the International Whiplash Trauma Association whose membership is dedicated reducing crash injuries through prevention and sponsoring research to end the suffering of those who continue to have serious chronic pain and disability.

We increase public awareness about neck and spinal injuries with the ultimate goal of preventing those injuries.
